tim minchin a comedy legend already?

So this weekend I went to see Tim Minchin, firstly just in case you don’t know who he is or what he does, he is an Australian Comedian/Songwriter, basically his act consists of funny songs, with a bit of stand up thrown in as well. I first heard about him on Colin Murray’s black hole of radio 1, I then went and had a look on You tube and his site where there are some clips and videos. I thought he looked funny so took a punt and went to see him a year ago. I thought he was great so as he was back in my area I went to see him again.

He was equally as good as last time if not better, his stand up bits were more confident than last time and nearly all the songs were new. I like the fact he combines music, as I am a musician (though not a stockbroker! – you’ll only get that if you have heard his song Mitsubishi Colt) and Comedy. It’s great the way he is missing around that then just goes into an amazing piano solo. The only problem was I ended up singing the songs the next day and well the words a definitely not suitable for my work place. I had a really enjoyable evening and laughed far too much, I look forward to the next time I get chance to see him.
