Rams have to get better

So after a dreadful season last year in the premiership Derby County find ourselves back in the Championship.  I wasn’t surprised we came straight back down, we got promoted too early and spent nothing, so we just didn’t have the players.  The only thing that disappointed me was the lack of effort that was put by 90% of the players.  Enough of last year, that’s over, we spent the summer signing a lot of new players and with Paul Jewell we have a quality manager.

Well that’s what I was hoping……

Unfortunately due to my job (I have to work Saturdays) I can never go to a match, but from what I’ve heard this season has started where we finished last year, there has been a familiar lack of effort and unconvincing performances, this is a worry!  After 3 matches Derby are in 20th place, 2 places above the drop zone and only 1 point from the 9 available.  Ok so we aren’t thinking about drop zones yet but there has been a lot of talk off the field over the summer about how we are going to bounce back, but we need to stop just talking about what we are going to do and start doing it!

I’m not expecting us to be promoted this year I just want some solid performances and a good top-middle table finish so we can build on it next year. Fingers crossed!
